Membership tiers on the marketplace side, and the member who holds them
Memberships turn up as member prices and member coupons. One kind is paid for, one is free, and both belong to the account that joined.
A paid marketplace membership
88VIP is Alibaba's paid membership for Taobao and Tmall shoppers. Members see a member discount on eligible items, receive member coupons from time to time and get perks on other Alibaba services. On a listing it shows up as a member price, or as an after-coupon figure that already includes the member discount. Taobao's price management rules name the member discount and member spending coupons among the benefits that can sit inside an after-coupon price.
Membership is held by one account and paid for by one person. Its terms, price and eligible goods change, and we have not reproduced them; what matters here is simpler. The saving was bought by the member, so it follows the member. An agent purchaser pays for your item from the agent's account, and whatever that account holds or lacks, the discount is not yours to bring.
Joining a shop for its member price
A different kind of membership costs nothing. Many Tmall and Taobao shops invite shoppers to join the shop 入会, and members then see a 会员价 member price or a 入会价 join-the-shop price. Taobao's price rules define the join-the-shop price as the listed price minus the member benefits available after joining, and say sellers must show how such offers are obtained.
Ask whether the purchaser’s account can use the shop-member price for this item, whether joining has conditions or costs, and what amount will be charged to you. We have no verified record of how routinely CNFans purchasers join shop memberships.
If the member price is why you chose the item, say so in the order note and ask whether the purchaser will join the shop for that order.
If the answer is no, decide on the set price. A member price that never applies to your order is not part of your deal.
Member-only coupons
Memberships also hand out coupons: shop coupons for members, birthday coupons, coupons for reaching a member level. They sit in the member's coupon wallet and are applied at that account's checkout. A catalog card may have caught a price that included one of them, and nothing on the card will say so.
The tell is on the listing. Look for wording such as 会员专享 (members only), 会员券 (member coupon) or a level name next to the price. Taobao's rules require sellers to show how offers for part of the audience are obtained, so the condition is normally printed somewhere near the figure.
Why the tier stays with the member
A membership is an arrangement between a platform or a shop and one account. The platform tracks that account's purchases, levels and coupons. Nothing about an agent order changes that: the purchaser buys from the agent's account, the item is sent to the CNFans warehouse in China, and the price paid is the one that account met.
The sorting tool treats shop-member offers as a question for the purchaser, not an entitlement. Joining may have conditions, and a membership benefit visible to one account may not apply to another. Confirm the quoted purchase amount without assuming that an account benefit transfers to your order.
