Coins, points and cashback cards: discounts paid out of a personal wallet
Part of many low prices is somebody's wallet money. The platform's own rules call it a personal asset, which settles where it belongs.
Taobao coins and the personal-asset rule
Taobao coins 淘金币 are a reward balance. Shoppers collect them through check-ins, games and purchases, and spend them to knock a little off eligible items: the label reads 淘金币抵扣 (coin deduction). On a listing it often appears as a lower after-coupon figure with a coin icon beside it.
The cited Taobao rule describes coins and red packets as account assets in the price calculation. For an agent order, ask how a usable benefit affects the actual quote; this site has not verified a rule that the saving must stay with the purchaser or must pass to the customer. platform price management rules
Red packets and shopping credit
Red packets 红包 are small balances handed out by the platform or by shops, sometimes with no threshold and sometimes with one. Shopping credit 购物金 is money a shopper tops up into a shop, often with a bonus. Both are applied at the holder's checkout, and both can sit invisibly inside an after-coupon price on a catalog card.
Taobao's rules list top-up credit among the offers whose conditions sellers must state: a coupon that needs a top-up first has to say so. For an agent order, the answer is the same as for coins. The balance belongs to the person who received it or paid for it, and the purchaser pays from the agent's account. If a catalog price looks too low, the gap may be somebody's red packet.
The cashback-for-review card in the parcel
Some parcels arrive with a small printed card: give the item five stars, send a screenshot, and the shop will send you cash. On listings and in chat the same idea appears as 好评返现 (cash back for a good review). It looks like a discount. It is not one.
Taobao's review rules (revised 12 August 2026) forbid sellers from encouraging good reviews with money or goods, and list five-star cashback, cashback for a good review, free orders for a good review, red packets for a good review and coupons for a good review by name. A separate set of listing rules bars the same offers from item descriptions. For an agent order the card is doubly empty: the review would be posted by the buying account, and the shop is paying for ratings it should earn.
What a personal wallet means for an agent order
Coins, red packets, shopping credit and review cashback all have one thing in common: they are paid out of, or into, a personal account. That makes them the clearest cases in the whole sort. None of them can move from the shopper who earned them into an agent purchase, and none of them should be counted when you decide whether an item is worth ordering.
If a lower amount appears beside a coin or red-packet icon, inspect the conditions and selected option. The price difference alone does not establish that a balance was spent or which amount another account will pay.
